April Board Minutes     April General Meeting Minutes

Hello all for my directors report this month I would beg everyone to look over their calendars for July to see what times you can work the gates. I will be semi limited this year as I have acquired a 2nd job but will do my best to cover all I can. Please use the calendars (attached) to see which gate and what times you can work. Hope everyone is getting the opportunity to get out and ride I know I have been taking every available time I can to get out. Have a super day. Chris Warren

Hi everyone. I will still be in my cast at the next meeting, so still not driving. I appreciate the calls and cards and thanks so much. The cast is supposed to come off May lst. So will see what the Dr. has in store for me then. Take care everyone, and after reading Sonny's report on Bev, and the full body cast she has to have, I am not going to complain about the toe to knee cast I have. (Well maybe) Take care and look forward to getting back to seeing you all again. Berta Lawson

Enclosed (attached) is the “tentative” trail riding schedule. Please look over the dates and places and let me know at this month’s meeting whether this schedule is okay or if you’d like to see changes. Also, I will be asking people to lead rides so please take some time to see if there is a ride you’d like to lead or a ride you’d like to add to the schedule and lead that ride. Thanks! Eileen Taylor

Bob Braico has resigned from this position so we will be looking for a replacement. If you are interested, please contact Sheri Onstott, our President. Also, Gary Bye, our Social Director has resigned and we need a replacement for his position as well. Again, please contact Sheri Onstott if you are interested in either of these positions. Sheri can be reached at 431-1014 or horselover1970@mt.net

I would like our Tues and Thurs 5-9 pm practice times and first Friday of the month listed. Also the work day of April 28th, have people bring tools (hammer, power saws, and such. Need to replace poles and couple of post, and fix gates. May 19th is a suggestion for a backup workday in case we get rained out.

I am in S.D. for military training Sat thur Wednesday. Plan to make the meeting.

I will be review the arena this week and make a list of things that we can ask Power Townsend to sell at cost for the arena. Thanks. Keith

Our annual spring cleanup is scheduled for April 28th. Please bring a sack lunch and there will be people bringing pot luck dishes if you would like to bring something to share or cookies (please bring cookies…) Keith Herrin, Jr. will be working on the West Arena and going through O-Mok-See equipment so please, if you are able, he will need help. The clubhouse will be cleaned and organized so there will be plenty to do for everyone. No experience required! We’ll stop for a lunch break about noon. Usually we are finished by then but it all depends on how much there is to do. This event is always fun and you’d be surprised how fast we can get finished when more people show up. If you want to bring your own cleaning supplies that is fine but there are supplies available at the clubhouse. Please try and come, even if it’s only for an hour. It’s a good way to visit and get to know your fellow members.

Upcoming Events:

April 21st. From the Ten Mile Drivers Newsletter

Our April activity is scheduled for Sat., April 21st. The Sleeping Giant Drive will cross several beautiful ranches north of Helena. Even if you’re not driving yet, plan on coming and riding along with one of the wagons or outriding. You will gain lots of knowledge and maybe even do a little driving. A map and further details are in this newsletter and if you have any questions reading the trip, feel free to call our host, Rita @ 439-3795 or myself @ 458-6151. Hope to see you all!

For you folks with small driving animals (Haflingers all the way down to minis) Herb Anderson of Shiloh Wagon Works has 9 wagons built and ready for driving right now. If you want a really well built, fifth wheel wagon that is very versatile, last you forever, and easy to handle, you will love a Shiloh. He will also custom make any size wagon you want for the bigger animals. If we can help make his trip worth it, Herb is contemplating a trip from Minnesota to Bozeman for the auction in May. If you’re interested in any of his wagons you might call him a ring at (218) 769-4444 to save yourself some shipping costs. He is also willing to bring wagon tongues, shafts, double trees, wagon tops, etc if you are in need of any parts.
